The Calico Group is excited to announce the launch of their brand-new job fair.
Based in Burnley, Calico now employs nearly 1000 people across the North West, delivering services including construction, training, medical and support services, as well as housing that the people of Burnley will be most familiar with.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to see the diverse range of job roles and current vacancies, including apprenticeships on offer at The Calico Group throughout the North West.
Calico continues to provide services throughout the local area that aim to make a real difference to people’s lives. Over the last 6 months, Calico Enterprise has seen their Employment and Skills team expand from 7 Employment Coaches to 17. This will allow the team to provide employability support to hundreds of people looking for work in the local community.
Earlier this year, Calico was awarded a share of £7m in Government funds to support the creation of flexi-job apprenticeship roles. The funding will enable the Group to employ a further 75 apprentices across the North of England during the funding period.
The Calico Group are also a part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme and have provided job placements to 72 young people, so far 75% have progressed into further jobs either within Calico or external companies.
A variety of services will be on offer throughout the day, including employability and skills support for those looking for work. There will also be one to one career advice and a CV building service available for attendees.
Colleagues from across Calico will be able to share their own experiences to attending guests, answering questions, and providing a real insight to what life within the Group looks like.
Attendees will receive a warm welcome in the reception area of The Calico Group offices at Centenary Court, Burnley with refreshments provided throughout the day.
Lindsey Danson, Service Operations Manager at The Calico Group, said: “We want people in the local community to know that there are a diverse range of job opportunities within our organisation. There is support from our team with helping people to explore their career options and access training that can bridge any gaps that people may face in securing a job.”
The event will take place at Centenary Court, Ground Floor, Burnley on Thursday 28 April 2022, 10am to 6pm.
